Modules are what we call the add-on pieces of software we use to extend the functionality of HydraCMS. In other words, modules can be added to your website so that your website will do more, for you and for the users of your site.
Incorporating any of the available HydraCMS Modules into your website allows you to expand your functionality, offering customers, vendors and employees increased features and greater varieties of useful information. We've outlined the Modules below:
Blog Module:
The Blog module makes it simple to add a web log to any page on your website - make new entries, edit past entries, and store old entries in an archive. Files can be attached to any entry, and visitors to the site can use the comment form to provide feedback.
Content Editor & History Module:
The Content Editor is designed to look and feel like any typical word processing program. This function allows you to add, edit, and delete text elements with ease. Use it to insert text, headings, links, and even some images and graphics.
Working in tandem with the Content Editor, the History Module keeps a record of all changes made to the website, providing information regarding what changes were made, who made them, and when they occurred. This module, which is included with every copy of HydraCMS, also allows users to "roll back" to previous versions of their content with the click of a button.
End-User Module:
The End User module allows visitors to the website to register themselves in order to use features, such as commenting on blog entries, or registering for events with the Calendar Module. Additionally, the module can interact with any other HydraCMS module to allow or restrict access to features, files, and pages.
Event / Calendar Module:
Keep visitors informed about conferences, meetings, and any other kind of event with the Event/Calendar module. Each event is indexed and archived by date, making it easy to see what has happened and what is on the horizon.
Event Feed Module:
A companion module to the Event/Calendar module, the Event Feed allows you to manage and unite multiple calendars and events into a single event listing. Organize upcoming events and allow visitors easy access to information without having to navigate the entire site.
File Repository Module:
A very basic module, the File Repository allows users to post files for download (Word, Excel, PDF, etc) and designate groups to aid in the organization of large amounts of files. Combine with the End User module to create private file groupings for registered users - great for intranet/inter-office files.
Photo Gallery Module:
Managing a photo collection, no matter how complex, is made incredibly easy with the Photo Gallery module. Uploaded photos are automatically resized and thumbnailed - all you provide is the image, title, and description. Photos can also be grouped into galleries for easy organization.
Catalog Module
The Catalog Module can hold and organize all of your products, making it simple for your users to browse, search, and find the product they need. Not only will your users be able to browse your products, but they will also be able to make out an order, so that their items will be ready for them the minute they walk in your store. The interface is simple and intuitive for administrator and customer alike! Show your products to the world...
